Job Aid for Pasado's Safe Haven Volunteers

Content: This job aid is part of a series created for volunteers working in the Animal Enrichment area at Pasado's Safe Haven animal shelter. Volunteers are initially trained by/shadow a veteran volunteer in order to learn multiple enrichment tasks. After this training, volunteers are assigned multiple rotating animal enrichment tasks per shift. Due to the task rotations and the large number of unique enrichment tasks, volunteers needed to have easy access to a quick reference guide in order to independently and successfully fulfill their shifts. This job aid was created using Pasado's specific brand colors and logo.
Challenge: New volunteers at Pasado's Safe Haven are originally trained by/shadow experienced staff on multiple rotating animal enrichment activities. Following this initial training and shadowing new volunteers are assigned a series of animal enrichment tasks which occur on a rotating calendar. Volunteers were having challenges remembering the materials and directions specific to each enrichment activity.
Solution: Volunteers needed a quick reference guide to reacquaint themselves with the steps of each task and to assist in easily gathering needed materials. I created job aids for each enrichment task with succinct directions and easy to follow photos outlining each step. These job aids were placed in an enrichment task manual for volunteers to access.
Result: The intended outcome is for Pasado's volunteers to refresh their memories on multiple assigned enrichment tasks, gather needed materials quickly, and successfully/independently perform each assigned enrichment task.
